Radul is Distinguished
The SCA's has been named as a Distinguished 間眅埶AV Professor, which "recognizes 間眅埶AV research faculty members of distinction who have achieved exceptional performance and distinguished accomplishments relative to their rank and years of service," administered by the 間眅埶AV*s Provost and Vice-President Academic and the Vice-President, Research and International. Anderson heads back to school
As well as saying goodbye to , SCA alumnus and the SCA's soon-to-be former Professional Development Coordinator, who's leaving us to become the new Artistic Director of , we're also saying goodbye to , SCA alumnus and the SCA's soon-to-be former Graduate Program Assistant, who's leaving us to do a PhD in the stream in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies (IGS) program at UBC Okanagan Graduate Studies. Good luck, buddy! And with all that in mind, the SCA's looking for both a new Professional Development Coordinator and a new Director's Assistant (Samantha Diamond, the current Director's Assistant, is moving to become the Graduate Program Assistant, which makes her old position open). Announcing the Marianne and Edward Gibson Art Museum
Official big news from 間眅埶AV Galleries Director Kimberly Phillips, who's also an Associate Member of the SCA's faculty: 間眅埶AV Galleries is excited to share that construction will soon begin on a new art museum at 間眅埶AV*s Burnaby campus. When it opens in early 2025, the Marianne and Edward Gibson Art Museum (the Gibson) will be a purpose-built space, open and informal in design, in recognition of the evolving ways that communities engage with culture. The Gibson will replace 間眅埶AV Gallery in the Academic Quadrangle and extend 間眅埶AV Galleries* current suite of programmes, creating new opportunities for multi-generational artist-led learning and cross-disciplinary explorations. The Gibson will also house the 間眅埶AV Art Collection, an invaluable and actively growing resource of over 5,800 works of art: unique in its capacity to trace the complex social and cultural life connected to this region. We recognize the generosity of Marianne Gibson*s $20 million gift, which, along with contributions from several other lead donors, has made this remarkable project possible.
