SCHOLARSHIPS, AWARDS & BURSARIES

There are a number of Scholarships, Awards, and Bursaries available to students across 間眅埶AV. Visit 間眅埶AV's searchable Bursaries and Scholarships Database to see all that is available.

Each Scholarship, Award, and Bursary available through 間眅埶AV has its own terms of reference and application requirements that applicants must meet and complete, but 間眅埶AV also requires that all applicants must meet these basic criteria:

Scholarships

  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50. 
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units of standard graded courses in the term of award. Challenge, audit and non-credit courses are not considered. 
  • Have completed at least 12 units of standard graded courses at 間眅埶AV.
  • A student holding an 間眅埶AV Entrance Scholarship is not eligible for any other University administered scholarships. This policy applies to any term in which an entrance scholarship is deferred. Please contact Financial Aid and Awards to check if the selected student is a recipient of an 間眅埶AV Entrance Scholarship.

Awards

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 at 間眅埶AV and be in good academic standing (in the case the student is a first term or transfer student he/she must possess an equivalent secondary school or college standing).
  • Registration in a minimum of 9 units of standard graded courses in the term of eligibility. Challenge, audit, and non-credit courses are not considered.

All of the applications submitted for the Scholarships, Awards & Bursaries listed here are granted by the Senate Undergraduate Awards Adjudication Committee on the nomination of the SCA Awards Committee, which assesses and adjudicates all applications.

The deadline to apply for the following Awards and Scholarships is Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 11:59 PM.

BOB RENNIE UNDERGRADUATE AWARD IN VISUAL ARTS

Terms of Reference:

The Bob Rennie Undergraduate Award in Visual Arts, valued at a minimum of $1,000, will be granted every year in any term to an undergraduate student based on all of the following criteria:

  • is considered the most promising undergraduate student in the Visual Art Program in the School for the Contemporary Arts;
  • is in full-time studies and in good academic standing; and,
  • is in their fourth year of undergraduate studies.

One award available at $1,700.

DR. TASHAKKOR UNDERGRADUATE AWARD IN CONTEMPORARY ARTS

At least one award, valued at a minimum of $1,000, will be granted annually in any term to an undergraduate student who meets the following criteria:

  • is enrolled full-time in the term of eligibility;
  • is enrolled in the Visual Arts program within the School for the Contemporary Arts;
  • is in good academic standing; and
  • has a demonstrated contribution to the visual arts.

Preference will be given to students in their third or fourth year of studies.

One award available at $1,000.

SEREIN PROPERTIES VISUAL ARTS AWARD

At least one award, valued at a minimum of $3,000, will be granted annually in any term to an undergraduate student who meets the following criteria:

  • is enrolled full-time in the term of eligibility;
  • is pursuing a bachelors degree in the School for the Contemporary Arts, with a major in Visual Arts;
  • is in good academic standing; and
  • has demonstrated creative potential in sculpting and/or installation arts.

Applications must include:

  • a resume outlining the applicants creative activities in sculpting and/or installation arts; and 
  • a letter of reference, from a faculty member, addressing the applicants creative potential in sculpting and installation arts.

One award valued at $3,000.

THE REDFM 93.1 MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship, valued at a minimum of $3,000, will be granted annually in any term to a Canadian undergraduate student enrolled in the School for the Contemporary Arts Music Program on the basis of excellent academic standing.

In the event that no suitable applicant is identified in a given year, two scholarships may be awarded in the subsequent year.

The award will be made by the Senate Undergraduate Awards Adjudication Committee based upon a nomination of the Director, School for the Contemporary Arts.

Award amount is $4,000.
