The 2020 MA candidates of 間眅埶AVs School for the Contemporary Arts invite you to their annual symposium. Embracing the limitations of their new Zoom realities, this year's symposium will take place online.
These scholars of the entangled invite you to admire the attractive groupings of curated short cinema, break free from the inequities of gender tokenism in western Canadian theatre, challenge Indian cinematic conventions through emancipatory acts of gender affirming embodiment, and consider authenticity amongst fabulation in cinematic depictions of war in Lebanon. Behold acts of mimetic sensuality permeating viral slime videos, dig into activist potential of pirate television and witness the transformative power of Indian street photography initiatives enacting social change.
Welcome to the swamp.
