Description
Family is looking for a behavioral interventionist (BI) to work with a five year old boy who is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Speech and Language Delay. This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to pursue a career in ABA therapy, Behavioral Analysis and Consulting, special education or any related field.
An ideal candidate would be:
- A third to fourth year Psychology major who is passionate about early childhood education, special education and behavioral analysis
- Proficient and fluent at communicating in English
- Caring, accountable, fun, energatic and punctual
- Committed to at least one year of service
- A minimum of 6 month experience working with children
- Prior knowledge about Autism and ABA is an asset
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Willing to complete a criminal record check.
Your responsibilities include:
- Work with the child to implement goals set by the team through interactive play
- Participate in bimonthly team meetings to provide progress report, feedback and contribute to goal setting
- Record and track data
You will have the opportunity to:
- Receive on-going training and support from board certified Behavioral Consultant, and Speech and Language Pathologist
- Receive a glowing reference letter from BCBA and/or the family upon completion of one year of service
- Make a positive and lasting impact on a child's life and wellbeing of the family.
