Description

Family is looking for a behavioral interventionist (BI) to work with a five year old boy who is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Speech and Language Delay. This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to pursue a career in ABA therapy, Behavioral Analysis and Consulting, special education or any related field.

An ideal candidate would be:

  • A third to fourth year Psychology major who is passionate about early childhood education, special education and behavioral analysis
  • Proficient and fluent at communicating in English
  • Caring, accountable, fun, energatic and punctual
  • Committed to at least one year of service 
  • A minimum of 6 month experience working with children 
  • Prior knowledge about Autism and ABA is an asset
  • Eligible to work in Canada 
  • Willing to complete a criminal record check. 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Work with the child to implement goals set by the team through interactive play
  • Participate in bimonthly team meetings to provide progress report, feedback and contribute to goal setting 
  • Record and track data

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Receive on-going training and support from board certified Behavioral Consultant, and Speech and Language Pathologist
  • Receive a glowing reference letter from BCBA and/or the family upon completion of one year of service
  • Make a positive and lasting impact on a child's life and wellbeing of the family.
