Indigenizing Course Content

The Department IRC conducted a survey of Department practices, the results of the survey and recommendtions are summarized here.

Recognizing that there are debates on who/how should be Indigenizing Course content , the need for change in educational structures and methods is necessary for Reconciliation.

In Spring 2023, the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Library announced the development of the new space in the library (4th floor, Belzberg) for the  ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Indigenous Curriculum Resource Centre. The establishment and usage of the Resource Centre are important steps on the journey of Reconciliation. 

There are many opportunities to learn about the issues through workshop series, as well as variety of online resources for Decolonizing and Indigenizing Curriculum. Some resources towards this work can be found below.
