Dr. Richard Wright

Lab Director

My primary research interest is attention. Our lab conducts experiments on change blindness, inattentional blindness, and visual search. If you are interested in joining our group, please contact us.

Ryan Dekergommeaux

Lab Manager

I joined the Vision Lab as a research assistant for an Honours Project in 2017. I graduated from ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV with a BSc in Behavioural Neuroscience (Hons) and a minor in Biology. I am currently an MA candidate in Cognitive Psychology with plans to complete my Doctorate with the Vision Lab and pursue a career in academia. My current areas of interest in attention research include location encoding and feature integration.

Amelia Pellaers

Assistant Lab Manager

My name is Amelia and I am a fourth-year student at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV studying Psychology and Biology. I joined the Vision lab because I love being involved in research and learning more about how the brain operates. I am very interested in the connection between the brain and behavioural and I hope to attend graduate school and work as an occupational therapist or behavioural interventionist after I finish my bachelor’s degree

Bonnie Ng

Research Assistant

I am Bonnie, a year 4 student majoring in Behavioural Neuroscience. I am mostly interested in research that explores the relationship between the brain, cognition and behaviour. I joined the lab because I think it would be interesting to explore how attention can influence one’s perception and therefore one’s behaviour. I am hoping that I can be involved in more research of this kind in the future even after I graduate.

Daryl Tang Sen

Tech Consultant

I love cognitive psychology and programming, and I've been really lucky to have a chance to put both to use here at the Vision Lab! I'm particularly interested in assistive driving features and how that might impact driver attention and their response to unexpected stimuli. Becoming a research assistant has been an extremely rewarding experience, because it's given me a front-row seat to see experimental psychology in action!

Margaret Wang

Research Assistant

My name is Margaret and I am a 4th year Criminology and Psychology double major. I am also completing my Forensic Science certificate! I actually came from a general science background, but as soon as I took a criminology course, I decided that science was not for me. I am interested in the field of forensic psychology because it is a happy medium between criminology and psychology. I find studying the criminal mind very interesting and fascinating. I initially joined the Vision lab because I wanted to gain some knowledge and experience in working in a lab. I also wanted to get to know how experiments are developed and run. After graduation, I hope to work in other psychology labs to develop more knowledge in my area of interest. Then, I plan to attend graduate school for forensic psychology or law school in hopes of becoming a forensic psychologist or a lawyer. A fun fact about me is that I grew up as a competitive figure skater! I started to learn how to skate when I was three years old and I quit my career about three years ago.
