PROGRAM DESIGN & COURSES

Program Design

Designed with working professionals in mind, this two-year degree program offers the opportunity to obtain a high-quality master's degree. Our cohort-based model allows students to work through the program and coursework together (18-24 students).

You will be encouraged to consider multiple perspectives on the goals, values and interdisciplinary nature of place-based, indigenous and ecological forms of education, while also obtaining a grounding in models for learning and teaching environmental topics in both school-based and informal settings. Specifically, we consider education ‘for’, ‘in’ and ‘about’ the environment and apply this knowledge to a wide range of formal and informal educational settings.

"The experiential environmental education course I took in my BEd was a highlight, so when I found the corresponding graduate program, directed by the same instructor David Zandvliet, it was an easy choice."
