Voices of AHCOTE Series

February 06, 2023

Our Voices of AHCOTE Series (in collaboration with ) shares the stories of AHCOTE Alumni and how the AHCOTE program opened doors for them as teachers in Northern BC. Teachers are in high demand, and accessible programs such as AHCOTE provide prospective teachers the opportunity to pursue education close to home and begin fulfilling careers in communities they know and love. Learn more about the AHCOTE program.

Casey Fehr

Sipping tea on a cold winter day, Casey sat down with Northern Lights College (NLC) staff member, Georgia Green, to share what life has been like since graduating from the Alaska Highway Consortium on Teacher Education (AHCOTE) program in 2015.

Sheena Taillefer

Sheena Taillefer, a Kindergarten — her favourite grade to teach — and Grade 1 teacher at Taylor Elementary School, always loved school; unlike some, school was her favourite place to be but becoming a teacher was never the plan.

Donna Hedges

From the time she was a child, Donna Hedges always wanted to help people and was always willing to help her fellow students if they were stuck on a problem or dealing with trouble on the playground.
