Research Interests

I am deeply invested in researching educative experiences that advance more connected, thriving, and just communities. Inspired by Mies (1993) premise, if you want to know something try to change it (p. 40), I see knowledge and action as intertwined. For me, research is an act that contributes to the worlds becoming, and I prioritize projects that have the potential to contribute to flourishing within communities both human and more-than-human. Funded by a SSHRC Insight Development Grant, my most recent research involves working collaboratively with Elders, environmentalists, teachers, and students to educate citizens about the impact of colonialization on the Fraser watershed and supporting them to restore local creeks and care for Salmon as family.
