I decided to become a peer mentor because I wanted to create a positive impact on new students’ initial experiences at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. Having struggled with navigating my first year, I wanted to use my insights and own personal experiences to help others who may be in the same position I was.

What is your best first year memory?

My best first-year memory was living on campus with my sister, where we met many other wonderful students and got involved in many events. We spent a lot of time exploring the campus and finding great places to study during the day together, which I loved.

Words of advice to new students?

My advice to new students is to maintain a healthy balance between academics and personal well-being. Although it is important to succeed in your classes, you must also focus on your mental health and engage in activities that reduce stress.

What are you involved in on and off campus?

In addition to being a full-time BGS student and peer mentor, I am also a tutor for grades K-12 at Sylvan Learning Centre. This position allows me to support students with their academic reading and writing, early literacy skills, and mathematics. In addition, I enjoy taking Spanish classes online to fulfill my own goal of mastering the language.
