1. [Plutarch], Lives of the Ten Orators: He kept being educated by the Syracusans Tisias and Nicias.

Spengel doubted the name Nicias.

2. Suda s.v Lysias: Lysias son of Kephalos, of Syracuse, an orator, student of Tisias and Nicias.

After this, the one called Eudocia.

3. Photius, Library: Lysias spent his time listening to the teachings of the Syracusans Nicias and Tisias.
