Important Resources:

Academic Integrity

All members of the university are expected to uphold the values of academic integrity: honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility, and courage. ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV considers any act of falsification, misrepresentation or deception to be destructive because it is unfair to students who pursue their studies honestly, it compromises the worth of other’s work, and ultimately prevents students from meaningfully reaching their own scholarly potential.

Co-op Program

¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Environment Cooperative Education provides opportunities for students to gain professional experience working in government agencies or private resource management organizations. Participation in the co-op program is optional and requires the approval and support of your supervisor. Some students are able to tie their co-op experience to their research topics to enrich their final project or thesis, and many students go on to full employment with their co-op employer after graduation.

Health and Wellness

¶¡ÏãÔ°AV provides health and counselling support to all students. They have a team of physicians, psychologists and clinical counsellors available to support students with their medical care needs.

International Services for Students (ISS)

International Services for Students (ISS) provides support and services to all ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV students who need information about international learning opportunities and international student support. They can help provide support and advice on immigration questions.

The library offers a wide range of workshops for graduate students & postdoctoral fellows. You can register for upcoming workshops or search by workshop date in the workshop calendar.

Graduate Studies

¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (GPS) oversees all graduate matters such as admissions, defenses, awards and scholarships. They also provide support to faculties and schools when required.

Western Deans’ Agreement Application:

Western Canadian Deans’ Agreement allows graduate students to take graduate courses at participating universities in Western Canada. Graduate students from ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV are required to pay tuition fees to ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV only and do not have to pay additional tuition fees at the host university. REM students can receive transfer credits for courses from participating universities. However, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV will only recognize a minimum grade of B for transfer credit. The grade achieved will not be included in your ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV GPA. . Please note that forms must be received a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the start of the term of enrollment.

Graduate Student Support

The REM Graduate Program Assistant can assist with questions about admissions, enrollment, awards and graduation. The Graduate Program Assistant can also direct you to ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV support services, provide guidance on policies and procedures and facilitate discussions with REM leadership as needed. For academic advising or questions relating to courses, students should speak with their faculty supervisor.
