Qualifications: Strong background in a relevant discipline with a strong background in sustainable resource management theory. Should be familiar with commons problems, the Canadian economy, as well as environmental challenges in energy, industry and urban development in Canada, and institutional and legal issues pertaining to Canada's environment, including those relevant to First Nations.

Qualifications:  Some previous coursework in Indigenous studies is a benefit, and a keen critical interest in Indigenous-Settler relations in Canada, reconciliation, and environmental issues.

Qualifications: Knowledge of concepts associated with systems thinking (e.g., stocks, flows, feedbacks, equilibria) as applied to environmental and social systems. Awareness of how these concepts have been used to build complex environmental constructs such as resilience and anarchy. Preference will be given to applications with demonstrated application of skills through modelling. Experience with Excel and a systems software such as InsightMaker, Vensim, or Stella are an asset.

Qualifications:  Must have a good working knowledge uncertainty in social-ecological systems, quantitative decision analysis, basic rules of probability (including conditional and marginal probability), and excellent communication skills. Academic or equivalent work experience with MS Excel is also required.

REM 350 Energy Management for a Sustainable Climate and Society – 1 TA Position

Qualifications: Knowledge of multi-disciplinary approaches to sustainable energy (thermodynamics, resource endowments, technologies, economics, policies, politics, economic development, international diplomacy, and human psychology) as demonstrated by completion of REM 650 or equivalent combination of experience and academic work sufficient to interpret the course material.

Qualifications: Knowledge of the following topics: challenges and opportunities for developing sustainable communities and a sustainable world, through the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); an understanding of strengths and weaknesses of conventional approaches to development and of sustainable development; emphasis on urban areas in the Global North and Global South; experience in leading tutorials and grading undergraduate courses; Background in Sustainable Development, Community Planning, and/or International Development preferred.

Qualifications: Knowledge of international development goals (e.g., under the UN SDGs, UNFCCC or the Convention on Biological Diversity). An understanding of conventional policy cycles and specific components (agendas, strategies, decisions, implementation, evaluation), including critiques thereof. Familiarity with common development planning tools such as logical frameworks and theories of change. Emphasis is on global development challenges and historical trends, but with a view to local application.
