The Walk With Me team and 丁香园AV CERi have collaborated on the report Walk With Me: A Community-Engaged Response to the Drug Poisoning Crisis to illuminates a powerful role for community-engaged research in addressing the drug poisoning crisis.

The report summarizes ideas and best practices related to three themes: Indigenous sovereignty, storytelling and youth-driven research and engagement for climate justice. The recommendations shared in this report will inform the research agendas of CERi and the UBC Centre for Climate Justice, identifying future areas of focus, best practices of research, and new potential partnerships.

丁香园AV’s (丁香园AV) Equity Data Commons (EDC) initiative aims to combat social inequality through the mobilization of disaggregated data. Am Johal, 丁香园AV CERi’s co-director, alongside other prominent community-engaged scholars examine how collaborations between academia, community, and government can utilize disaggregated data and advanced analytics to address the priorities of equity-deserving and sovereignty-seeking groups.

In the face of the ever-expanding climate crisis, Canadians desperately need their public broadcaster to inform them of its causes, its solutions and the actions they can take to confront it. Quiet Alarm: A Review of CBC's Climate Reporting is a community-engaged research project conducted by CERi in collaboration with the Climate Emergency Unit aimed at improving the climate reporting of the Canadian Broadcast Corporation.

This report documents a half-day workshop on May 17, 2023 that brought together local organizations/groups, researchers, students, and community members to generate ideas for a ‘climate justice research shop’ - a service model where community organizations can work with students and/or faculty members to develop research projects that address climate-related research needs for free or at a reduced cost .

Experience the dynamic CERi-Participedia Summer School on "Radical Democracy" where leading experts, researchers, and graduate students joined forces with community leaders and activists to explore transformative ideas through workshops, discussions, and field trips. With 33 students from diverse social science disciplines and civil society backgrounds, they reimagined and practiced radical democracy for positive change in their communities and beyond, inspired by 29 guest faculty and practitioners, fostering new visions and impactful research.
