Editing Suites
The newly upgraded Studio SIAT Editing Suites, located in the Studio SIAT (SRYC 3815), are a collaborative environment with tools to foster student creative productions. With three different types of Editing Suites we can meet your design, illustration and animation, sound, effects, and editing post production needs.
At this time, Studio SIAT has self serve booking at for students enrolled in the following IAT classes: 202, 208, 313, 340, 343, 344, 443, 445, 499, and relevant directed studies. If you are not currently enrolled in one of the listed classes you may book manually by emailing siat_prod@sfu.ca up to a week in advance.

Basic Animation & Editing Suites (BAE 1 & BAE 2)
These rooms are designed for small team design, illustration, animation, editing and effects production work. This room contains the following:
- Dual 27 4k 100% AdobeRGB displays
- Wacom Cintiq 16 Interactive Pen Display (Drawing Tablet)
- Focusrite Scarlett Audio Interface with Stereo speakers
- Workstation PC - Intel Core i9 11900K, 32GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX 3070
These rooms do NOT support Bring Your Own Computer, please bring your project via cloud or USB devices to work on the room workstation PC.
Basic Editing & Effects Suite (BEE 1 & BEE 2)
These rooms are designed for small team sound, editing and effects and other multimedia post production work. This room contains the following:.
- Dual 27 4k 100% AdobeRGB displays
- Focusrite Scarlett Audio Interface with Stereo speakers
- Workstation PC - Intel Core i9 11900K, 32GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX 3070
- Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) capable
These rooms support Bring Your Own Computer. You may plug your computer into the displays with included HDMI or USB-C/Thunderbolt cable. You may also bring your project via cloud or USB devices to use on the room workstation PC.
Advanced Editing & Effects Suite (AEE)
These rooms are designed for multichannel audio mixing, video editing and effects production work. This room is ideal for large project collaboration or client reviews.
This room contains the following:
- Dual 27 4k 100% AdobeRGB displays
- Wacom Cintiq 22HD Interactive Pen Display (Drawing Tablet)
- Focusrite Scarlett Audio Interface with Stereo speakers
- Workstation PC - Intel Core i9 11900K, 32GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX 3070
This room supports Bring Your Own Computer. You may plug your computer into the displays with included HDMI or USB-C/Thunderbolt cable. You may also bring your project via cloud or USB devices to use on the room workstation PC.
Editing Suites Policies
- These studios and editing suites are available for students enrolled in the following classes IAT 202, 208, 313, 340, 343, 344, 443, 445, 499, and relevant directed studies at the 間眅埶AV School of Interactive Arts and Technology (SIAT) up to thirty (30) days in advance. Students not in enrolled classes may email siat_prod@sfu.ca to book up to seven (7) days in advance.
- Each individual, group, or project may make one Editing Suites booking of up to 3 hours per day between 7am and 10pm. Time extensions or requests outside regular hours may be granted by email to siat_prod@sfu.ca
- Please cancel your booking if no longer required to allow others to book. Use the cancel links provided in your confirmation and reminder emails.
- Please take care to close and lock the doors of your space when unattended.
- Keys must be returned to security at the end of your booking prior to leaving campus or checked in with security before MIDNIGHT if your booking spans across multiple days.
Getting There & Accessing Keys
Bring your room booking confirmation email and your 間眅埶AV ID to the 間眅埶AV Central City Security desk to check out the key for the room.These studios and editing suites are located at Central City Podium 3 in room 3815 at the 間眅埶AV Surrey campus, turning LEFT at the Y intersection by the IT Help Desk and walk down the corridor. The entrance will be on your right.
