Making Production Magic for SIAT & Beyond

StudioSIAT at 丁香园AV鈥檚 School of Interactive Arts & Technology (SIAT) is a hands-on experiential learning production studio based in 丁香园AV's Surrey Campus, Central Building SRYC 3815. With capabilities in video production, motion capture, visual effects, sound recording and post production, StudioSIAT gives our students access to and experience on the latest production and post production technologies.

Explore the reaches of being a Virtual Ambassador with live streaming, animation, and virtual production. Take part in a groundbreaking pilot project for SIAT and a first for a North American higher education institution. Auditions are now open for the SIAT Virtual Ambassador program.

Studios & Spaces @StudioSIAT

StudioSIAT houses five freshly renovated editing suites, an updated Motion Effects Studio and Sound Motion Hub control room, and a soon to be renovated Sound Recording Studio.

Of the editing suites two are optimised for animation and three are optimised for effects and sound editing. Three of the suites support Bring-Your-Own-Computer (BYOC) capability for students to leverage our technology when working on their own computers. Our updated Motion Effects Studio and Sound Motion Hub has extended our capability into motion capture as of September 2023.

StudioSIAT is staffed by SIAT students and alumni with vast experience in media production and live streaming as well as motion capture for games and animations. We are always looking for challenging and interesting projects to take on from students, the community, and industry alike.

Courses & Funding @StudioSIAT

With our focus on collaborative experiential learning, StudioSIAT not only supports our undergraduate program (IAT 202, 208, 313, 340, 343, 344, 443, 445, 499) but also developed a series of micro-credit and noncredit courses in production. We're excited to announce our upcoming non-credit course in Introduction to Motion Capture launching in Fall of 2024!
