High school admission requirements
Incoming students are encouraged to have a strong foundation in mathematics, which is necessary for required math and programming courses within the program.

Within-¶¡ÏãÔ°AV transfer requirements
Transferring to a SIAT Major, Joint Major, or Minor
Students already admitted to another ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV program may apply to transfer into the School of Interactive Arts & Technology (SIAT) major or minor.
The transfer process is competitive. Amount of space available for transfers into SIAT varies from term to term. Students with higher Interactive Arts & Technology grade point averages (IAT GPA) and cumulative grade point averages (CGPA) will be selected first.
Applicants may indicate in the application form if they would like to be considered based on CGPA or IAT GPA. To be considered based on CGPA a minimum of three ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV courses must be completed before applying. To be considered based on IAT GPA a minimum of three IAT courses must be completed before applying. Students with an IAT GPA or CGPA lower than 2.75 are not normally considered.
For reference, below is the average IAT GPA and CGPA for successful transfers from the last three intakes for majors:
- Fall: 3.27 IAT GPA, 3.00 CGPA
- Spring: 3.30 IAT GPA, 3.04 CGPA
- Summer: 3.11 IAT GPA, 2.98 CGPA 
Below is the average IAT GPA and CGPA for successful transfers from the last three intakes for minors:
- Fall: 3.30 IAT GPA, 3.22 CGPA
- Spring: 3.26 IAT GPA, 2.85 CGPA
- Summer: 3.08 IAT GPA, 2.73 CGPA
Applicants may also provide an optional statement of interest to be included as part of their application.
There is one intake of transfers done per semester. Application deadlines are February 1, June 1, and October 1. Please complete the SIAT Major, Joint Major, and Minor online application form to apply.
External college or university transfer requirements
Students coming from an college or university other than ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV are encouraged to have a strong foundation in mathematics, which is necessary for required math and programming courses within the program.
All transfer applicants coming from a college or university other than ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV must have completed 24 credits of transferrable post-secondary coursework for admission to the university as a transfer student.

SIAT Concentration Application
Concentrations are a group of related courses that approved IAT Majors and Joint Majors can pursue within their degree. Further information on concentrations is available in the Degrees section.
Application deadlines for applying to concentrations are February 1st, June 1st and October 1st each year.
