Project description: Beyond Borders is an interactive video installation that aims to provide the experience of taking psychedelic drugs without any negative consequences. The installation utilizes methods from both psychedelic therapy and immersion therapy to create a unique experience for users. Through the installation, users are immersed in virtual liminal spaces and vaporwave aesthetic environments through projection mapping which initially induces feelings of unease and discomfort but eventually leads to a sense of tranquillity and relaxation.

The project's goal is to help university students who are struggling with mental health challenges, such as isolation, loneliness, anxiety, and other mental health issues that may arise due to academic or social pressure, transitional periods, or lack of support. It offers an alternative method for dealing with these challenges, which may be more accessible and less risky than taking psychedelic drugs.

Beyond Borders provides an opportunity for users to explore their thoughts and emotions in a safe and controlled environment. By creating a space that allows users to relax and let go of their worries, the project aims to promote mental wellness and improve the overall quality of life for its users.
