What is a Lightboard and How Does it Work?

A lightboard works like a traditional whiteboard except that you face your students (the camera) with the board, an illuminated sheet of glass, in front of you. Using neon markers, you can make annotations and references on the board that will appear as an overlay on your video-recorded presentation or lecture. You can also use graphic overlays or backgrounds.

Why Use a Lightboard?

A lightboard is a helpful way to include supplementary information within a video. It allows you to provide additional explanation or clarification through the use of graphs, equations, diagrams, etc.

Included below are some examples of how a lightboard can be used to illustrate and clarify complex concepts within a lecture.
