Accessible and Inclusive Teaching Drop-in

Summary

Stop by to explore accessible, inclusive and contextualized teaching practices for your diverse class. Bring your questions & friends!

An accessible teaching workshop can be customized for your faculty or your department. Please reach out to find out more.

Description

Join us for this in-person drop-in session. Our Inclusive Teaching Team of Educational Developers will be on hand to answer your questions about requests for accommodation, and/or how best to meet the needs of your diverse students in your classroom. Colleagues from the Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL) will also be on hand to talk about ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV policy and student accommodations. Bring your burning teaching questions from the start of the new term. We’ll share research-informed resources, tips, tricks and ideas you can roll out to impact student learning right away—or we can explore bigger teaching ideas for development over the coming year. You don’t need to make an appointment for a teaching or course consultation; just stop by for a friendly chat! We can’t wait to see you there!

Learning outcomes

By the end of the session you will be able to:

  • Identify a new inclusive teaching practice in your course or class to consider implementing right away
  • Recognize the roles of CEE and CAL in supporting accessibility for students and classroom practices
  • Identify ways to source additional information, seek consultation and answer other questions, concerns or curiosities about contextualized, inclusive and accessible teaching in your discipline
