Getting your ID Card

Please bring a physical copy of valid, government-issued photo ID in order to get your ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV ID card. Electronic ID copies and high school ID cards are not accepted.

New and returning students must visit a Registrar and Information Services office at one of the three campuses that is most convenient to them to request or renew their student ID.

Faculty, staff and students visiting the Surrey and Vancouver campuses can visit the Registrar and Information Services office. If you have any questions, please contact us.

New Students

If you are a new student, you will be able to get your ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV ID card 24 hours after you have enrolled in courses.

Examples of valid government-issued photo ID may include your passport, Canadian driver’s license, or Certificate of Indian Status.

Current Students

Current ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV students who require a replacement ID card should visit the Registrar and Information Services offices that is most convenient to them. Location and hours of operation can be found on this page.

Bring a photo ID 

To get your ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV ID card, you must bring a physical copy of a valid government-issued photo ID. The ID must include your full name and date of birth in English, and must not be expired.

Types of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV ID Card

Student

¶¡ÏãÔ°AV ID cards are automatically renewed whenever you enrol in courses. You must keep your card for the duration of your studies at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV and thereafter as an alumnus.

Faculty and staff

Human Resources will notify you when your card is available to be produced. Following the first payroll cycle, staff and faculty can get their ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Employee ID card at any of our three campuses at Registrar and Information Services

FIC students

You may need a Student ID Card if you live in ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Residence and Housing and need access to the dining hall.

FIC students are able to request their ID and Replacement IDs at any of our Registrar and Information Services offices.

Visitors cards

Visiting faculty and scholars, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Childcare staff, visiting graduate students, and members of the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV community who are being sponsored by a department may be eligible to receive an ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV ID card and library borrowing privileges.

In order for us to determine your eligibility for an ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV ID card, our office will require a letter from your department that lists your start and end date at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, in addition to a valid piece of government-issued photo ID (see below).
