2017 FCAT Undergraduate Conference

On February 24th, 2017, the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology (FCAT) celebrated the 7th annual Undergraduate Conference (UGC) at 間眅埶AV's Woodward's Campus. The conference is an amazing event where students within FCAT come together to share knowledge and projects produced in courses offered across the faculty. This exciting event celebrates the wide range of works being produced in  (CMNS),  (SIAT),  (SCA), and .This year's conference consisted of a series of 15-minute presentations. Approximately thirteen presentations (excluding installations and displays) occured concurrently in time-slots throughout the afternoon. There were about 40 presenters in total.

Following the event, there was a reception party at the  for both presenters and 間眅埶AV members.

An interdisciplinary Conversation of "Space"

It is possible to interpret and apply the theme of S梯硃釵梗&紳莉莽梯;to a diverse range of potential areas of interest. For example, the design or use of public or virtual spaces in architecture, the functional identity of space in print and live performance, the relationships of power perpetuated through spatial patterns between humans or non-humans, or current topics about the universe. The possibilities are endless.

Through generous donations to 間眅埶AV, Canon Canada Inc. established the Canon Canada Photography Prize to ensure that outstanding students have the opportunity to be recognized for their photography work in the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology (FCAT). Each year, the top student portfolios from the Photo-based Practices course in the School for the Contemporary Arts (SCA) and the Digital Photography course in the School of Interactive Arts and Technology (SIAT) are recognized with two annual prizes consisting of leading Canon photography equipment. In addition, Canon Canada Inc. became the inaugural sponsor of FCATs annual Undergraduate Conference in 2015 and have since continued to support the event on an annual basis. We are pleased to share the impact of this exceptional commitment by presenting the Canon Canada Photography Prizes to the winning recipients at the opening ceremony of the 2017 conference.
