Certificate in Digital Journalism

間眅埶AVs Certificate in Digital Journalism provides an introduction to and experience in diverse forms of public communication that draw on journalistic traditions that are being transformed by digital platforms and data driven communication. By completing courses in contemporary arts, communication, publishing, and interactive arts and technology, student will gain interdisciplinary experience in digital journalism and receive a unique credential that will prepare them to enter the rapidly changing field of journalism. 

Program highlights

  • A student in any faculty at 間眅埶AV may pursue this certificate through the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology. 
  • Students must complete a minimum of 21 units (7-9 courses), including core creative technologies courses and elective courses in digital journalism at 間眅埶AV.
  • Certificate may be completed in three semesters of full-time study. 
  • Units applied for this certificate may also count towards students majors/minors.

間眅埶AV Requirements

A student in any faculty at 間眅埶AV may declare this certificate through the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology. Normal university grade point average requirements apply for entry into all FCAT courses.

Program Requirements

Students must complete a minimum of 21 units, including core courses and elective courses in digital journalism at 間眅埶AV.

For this certificate, students may take a maximum of two courses from CA, CMNS, or IAT.

Units applied to one certificate may be applied also to major or minor programs of a bachelors degree under the normal regulations governing those programs but may not be applied to another 間眅埶AV certificate or diploma.

Students who wish to complete upper division courses must ensure that they have the prerequisites and be aware that some courses may have limited enrollments.
