Judy Smith

ASSOCIATE DEAN, LIFELONG LEARNING, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV VANCOUVER

Judy leads a collaborative, dynamic team that develops and delivers high calibre, certificate programs and community education attuned to excellence in teaching and learning. That work supports ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s innovation and community engagement strategies, and reinforces the university’s commitment to reconciliation with Indigenous people. A passion for working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and addressing social and systemic inequities are core to her work. She has a master’s degree in history from the University of British Columbia where she researched British colonialism and the constructions of race, sexuality, gender, and class in the late nineteenth-century. The knowledge gained in her studies, combined with extensive leadership experience in the social profit sector and at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, influences her work designing adult education programs that support positive social and systemic change.
