Dialogue Dispatch: August 1, 2023
Welcome to the inaugural issue of , a bi-monthly newsletter sharing emerging practices, inspiring stories and practical tools to support people and organizations who are working to transform the field of democratic participation.
This month we share resources on advocacy for democratic participation and equity in evaluation and deliberation, alongside reflections on arts-based dialogue in our brand-new podcast Talk Dialogue To Me, and announcements of job and conference opportunities.
Over the next few months the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue is working to articulate core principles for democratic participation, including deliberation, equity, depolarization, human rights and systems thinking through numerous research and knowledge mobilization initiatives. We are also excited to engage in conversations with the global field of practitioners at the upcoming Open Government Partnership Summit in Estonia and Democracy R&D conference in Copenhagen– stay tuned for our notes from the field in fall issues of Dialogue Dispatch!
In the meantime, we invite you to to help us connect you with resources to support your work. (Anyone who completes the survey will be given the option to enter a draw for one of four $25 gift certificates).
In this edition of Dialogue Dispatch:
- Updates from the Centre including a briefing of Canada’s results in the 2021 OECD Trust Survey, refining evaluation framework for climate assemblies, a job opportunity and our first podcast episode
- What we're reading
- Opportunities to connect at IAP2’s North American Conference and NCDD’s Conference on Dialogue and Deliberation
