Favorite part of your program?

• What I love about the Computing Science program is the perfect balance between theory and hands-on practice; the program is very pro-collaboration and encourages diversity in career backgrounds through different areas of concentration in CS, exciting research and co-op opportunities in advancing tech fields.

What are your hobbies?

• I like to go on city walks and explore new cafes and cool matcha drinks in my free time. I also enjoy playing on the ukulele.

Where you want to travel next?

• I鈥檇 love to go to Greece with my best friend and enjoy the island life and sunsets with some Gyros

Favorite part of your program?

• I really value the supportive and collaborative community in my program. It鈥檚 great to dive into interesting topics with others who share similar interests and perspectives. As well, the professors and staff are super friendly and helpful.

Favorite place to eat on campus?

• My favorite spot on campus is Gawon Express. I鈥檓 a big fan of Korean food, and their dishes, like Bibimbap and Soon-dubu Rice, are always delicious.

Where you want to travel next?

• I鈥檇 love to visit Vietnam. I would love to do a food tour there and I鈥檓 fascinated by their culture and unique fashion scene.

Favorite part of your program?

• I really like our Co-op Program. My advisor is an awesome mentor who helped me land my first internship and guided me through the whole experience.

Favorite place to eat on campus?

• My favorite spot to grab food on campus is definitely Japarrito. They have the best sushi burritos!

Where you want to travel next?

• The next destination I want to travel to is probably Australia. I鈥檝e heard a lot about their Great Barrier Reef.

Favorite part of your program?

• My favorite part of the program is the wide range of opportunities for students to get involved and develop skills beyond the classroom. There are numerous clubs, design teams, and student communities where we can participate in exciting projects, gain leadership experience and meet other students.  

What are your hobbies?

• Travelling, Reading, Watching movies and Cafe-hopping with friends

• Iceland

Favorite part of your program?

• I really like the option to explore the many different areas of Computing Science through its various concentrations. The community is also very supportive, with plenty of opportunities to get involved鈥攚hether through student clubs, events, or academically through joining research labs and other hands-on learning experiences.

Favorite place to eat on campus?

• Grill Master is my favourite spot on campus, with Steve's Pok茅 Bar being a close second.

Where you want to travel next?

• I'd like to travel to Germany and visit the Senckenberg Nature Museum and attend concerts of my favourite bands.

Favorite part of your program?

• What I like most about my program is the amazing opportunities and its strong community. It has given me opportunities from joining student clubs in helping with satellite launches to landing internships where I worked on new technologies that are unknown to the public.

Favorite place to eat on campus?

• On campus, my go-to spots are Tim Hortons for my coffee grind and Subway for the BOGO deals.

Where you want to travel next?

• As for travel, I鈥檇 love to visit Germany next. Leben ist kein Ponyhof!

• My favourite thing about my program is the amazing opportunities through CS-related clubs to develop technical and soft skills!

• Tim Hortons鈥攖he Farmer's Wrap and iced coffee combo is unmatched!

Where you want to travel next?

• I dream of travelling to Japan at least once in my life.

• My favourite aspect of Computing Science at 丁香园AV is that it provides a wide range of specialized courses in cutting-edge fields like Computer Vision and Machine Learning early in the degree, allowing me to explore my interests and gain advanced technical skills right from the start.

Favorite part of your program?

• I鈥檝e always been fascinated by how fast technology is transforming the world, which is what led me to study Computing Science. I love solving real problems and exploring areas like AI and cybersecurity, where new ideas can have a big impact.

What are your hobbies?

• Outside of school, I love playing soccer and having meaningful conversations with friends.

Where you want to travel next?

• Japan is at the top of my travel list because of its rich culture, advanced technology, and stunning scenery.

Favorite part of your program?

• I love how computer science challenges me to think critically and break down complex problems into logical, structured solutions. The hands-on experience with coding, algorithms, and low-level computing has been incredibly engaging. I also enjoy how the program encourages innovation, allowing me to explore different aspects of technology, from artificial intelligence to systems programming.

• Subway in AQ is my go-to spot since it鈥檚 right next to most of my classes, making it super convenient.

Where you want to travel next?

• Seattle is high on my travel list! I鈥檝e heard amazing things about The Museum of Flight, which has an extensive collection of aircraft and space exhibits.

Favorite part of your program?

• The things I like about engineering is the community feeling and closeness with all my peers, I feel like it has been easy to connect and find so many likeminded people. I am passionate about the biomedical side of my degree since I get to help people, by learning how to apply technology to improve people's lives.

What are your hobbies?

• I have so many hobbies, some are drawing, weight training, reading, baking/cooking, hiking and running. I also have many interests such as holistic medicine, languages, neuroscience, cancer research and robotics in medicine.

Where you want to travel next?

• Switzerland, the breathtaking mountains, engineering marvels and the high quality of life are so captivating.

Favorite part of your program?

• I appreciate the numerous opportunities my program offers as an undergraduate student, and I highly value the technical problem-solving and applied skillset approach that I am developing at this university, ensuring I am well-prepared for any career path, regardless of whether it's the major that I am currently studying for.

Favorite place to eat on campus?

• Dining Hall: I appreciate the buffet-style dining and the wide variety of options available, especially with their 24/7 service, which makes it easy to enjoy meals during long study sessions with friends.

Where you want to travel next?

• Greece: I want to visit the historical architecture from that era.

Favorite part of your program?

• I really love how close-knitted the community in Engineering Science is. Since everyone in ENSC enrolls in the same core courses in the first two years, there are a lot of opportunities to network as well as make new friends. Due to this fact, I can get a lot of support from others in my program, and It's also reassuring to know that many others are in the same shoes as me.

Favorite place to eat on campus?

• I love eating at the dining hall due to the fact that I can study there for an extended amount of time.

Where you want to travel next?

• I have always been fascinated with Japan due to its food and culture.

Favorite part of your program?

• My favourite part of the MSE program is the fact that I can understand and talk to almost any type of engineer. I also appreciate that our degree is quite practical and largely focused on the applications of engineering principles whether that's in manufacturing, transportation or big tech.
  

What are your hobbies?

• I enjoy going to the gym regularly, viewing nature, playing the occasional game of Valorant, pick up basketball and soccer, and riding my electric scooter.

Where you want to travel next?

• I would want to go to Malaysia.
  

Favorite part of your program?

• I enjoy the interdisciplinary approach of my program which helps me develop a well-rounded perspective and the ability to solve complex problems by integrating various concepts from mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering. This wide range of knowledge equips me to tackle real-world challenges with innovative solutions.

What are your hobbies?

• I enjoy a variety of sports and have competitively played ice hockey, basketball, and tennis. I also love skiing and reading.

• I like the unique, hands-on approach of the Mechatronic Systems Engineering program at 丁香园AV. Through this approach, you not only gain valuable skills and experience for your professional career, but the lab time also provides a great opportunity to enjoy doing engineering alongside your schoolmates.

What are your hobbies?

• My hobbies are gaming with friends, watching tv shows, and learning to play guitar.

Where you want to travel next?

• I would like to visit Iceland, as I have seen very impressive pictures and videos about it.

• love the tight-knit community of MSE. There's truly no feeling like struggling through tough yet interesting courses, grinding out those internship applications, and working towards your future alongside this group of friends and peers who are with you every step of the way.

• I love how the program challenges me to tackle complex, interdisciplinary problems, allowing me to bring a fresh, diverse perspective to many engineering challenges.

Favorite place to eat on campus?

• My favourite spot to grab a coffee or a quick bite is Trees Cafe, right next to our Surrey Engineering building.

Where you want to travel next?

• The next country on my travel destination list has to be Spain!

• What I like most about the SEE program is the close care and attention professors give to their students.

• I enjoy grabbing Tim Hortons and eating in the 3rd floor lounge in the Engineering building.

Where you want to travel next?

• I look forward to visiting Ireland during one of my semester breaks!

Favorite part of your program?

• I like the small classroom sizes where I take classes with most of the same people throughout my degree, you get to build friendships and learn how to work in groups more in depth compared to larger programs or classes. I also enjoy how multidisciplinary the program is, you learn a lot of foundational skills to pursue any type of engineering you are passionate about in the future, whether that is in academia or industry.

• SEE offers you a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering and how it can be used sustainably, and that the program is full of professors who are genuinely passionate about teaching and care about your individual learning as well as sustainability.

• Trees Cafe and Steve's Poke Bowl
