Our applied sciences ambassadors are a dedicated group of students who play a vital role in welcoming new students and connecting the community on campus. They represent the voices of students from each of our four schools within the Faculty of Applied Sciences.

Favorite part of your program?
- What I love about the Computing Science program is the perfect balance between theory and hands-on practice; the program is very pro-collaboration and encourages diversity in career backgrounds through different areas of concentration in CS, exciting research and co-op opportunities in advancing tech fields.
What are your hobbies?
- I like to go on city walks and explore new cafes and cool matcha drinks in my free time. I also enjoy playing on the ukulele.

- I’d love to go to Greece with my best friend and enjoy the island life and sunsets with some Gyros

Favorite part of your program?
- I really value the supportive and collaborative community in my program. It’s great to dive into interesting topics with others who share similar interests and perspectives. As well, the professors and staff are super friendly and helpful.
Favorite place to eat on campus?
- My favorite spot on campus is Gawon Express. I’m a big fan of Korean food, and their dishes, like Bibimbap and Soon-dubu Rice, are always delicious.
Where you want to travel next?
- I’d love to visit Vietnam. I would love to do a food tour there and I’m fascinated by their culture and unique fashion scene.

Favorite part of your program?
- I really like our Co-op Program. My advisor is an awesome mentor who helped me land my first internship and guided me through the whole experience.

- My favorite spot to grab food on campus is definitely Japarrito. They have the best sushi burritos!

- The next destination I want to travel to is probably Australia. I’ve heard a lot about their Great Barrier Reef.

- My favorite part of the program is the wide range of opportunities for students to get involved and develop skills beyond the classroom. There are numerous clubs, design teams, and student communities where we can participate in exciting projects, gain leadership experience and meet other students.

Favorite part of your program?
- I really like the option to explore the many different areas of Computing Science through its various concentrations. The community is also very supportive, with plenty of opportunities to get involved—whether through student clubs, events, or academically through joining research labs and other hands-on learning experiences.
Favorite place to eat on campus?
- Grill Master is my favourite spot on campus, with Steve's Poké Bar being a close second.
Where you want to travel next?
- I'd like to travel to Germany and visit the Senckenberg Nature Museum and attend concerts of my favourite bands.

Favorite part of your program?
- What I like most about my program is the amazing opportunities and its strong community. It has given me opportunities from joining student clubs in helping with satellite launches to landing internships where I worked on new technologies that are unknown to the public.

- On campus, my go-to spots are Tim Hortons for my coffee grind and Subway for the BOGO deals.

- I’ve always been fascinated by how fast technology is transforming the world, which is what led me to study Computing Science. I love solving real problems and exploring areas like AI and cybersecurity, where new ideas can have a big impact.

- I love how computer science challenges me to think critically and break down complex problems into logical, structured solutions. The hands-on experience with coding, algorithms, and low-level computing has been incredibly engaging. I also enjoy how the program encourages innovation, allowing me to explore different aspects of technology, from artificial intelligence to systems programming.

- Subway in AQ is my go-to spot since it’s right next to most of my classes, making it super convenient.

- Seattle is high on my travel list! I’ve heard amazing things about The Museum of Flight, which has an extensive collection of aircraft and space exhibits.

- What I like most about Software Systems is how applicable the courses are in industry. During my co-op terms there have been many satisfying moments where I make the connection between what I'm working on and what I've learned in class.

- My favourite place to eat on campus is the T&T in Surrey Central, it's fun going down there to see what's been given the orange "on sale" stickers or just getting the ol' reliable steamed bun.

- The things I like about engineering is the community feeling and closeness with all my peers, I feel like it has been easy to connect and find so many likeminded people. I am passionate about the biomedical side of my degree since I get to help people, by learning how to apply technology to improve people's lives.
What are your hobbies?
- I have so many hobbies, some are drawing, weight training, reading, baking/cooking, hiking and running. I also have many interests such as holistic medicine, languages, neuroscience, cancer research and robotics in medicine.

Favorite part of your program?
- I really love how close-knitted the community in Engineering Science is. Since everyone in ENSC enrolls in the same core courses in the first two years, there are a lot of opportunities to network as well as make new friends. Due to this fact, I can get a lot of support from others in my program, and It's also reassuring to know that many others are in the same shoes as me.

- I love eating at the dining hall due to the fact that I can study there for an extended amount of time.

Favorite part of your program?
- My favourite part of the MSE program is the fact that I can understand and talk to almost any type of engineer. I also appreciate that our degree is quite practical and largely focused on the applications of engineering principles whether that's in manufacturing, transportation or big tech.
What are your hobbies?
- I enjoy going to the gym regularly, viewing nature, playing the occasional game of Valorant, pick up basketball and soccer, and riding my electric scooter.
