Your voice can help make a difference! Our community partnerships and programs depend on the involvement, engagement and commitment of many people who want to make positive social change. Through storytelling and social media engagement, YOU can be one of those people, and help others see themselves that way too.
Your role:
As a member of the Online Media Taskforce, you will help develop social media content based on the programs, events, and activities that take place at the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Surrey –TD Community Engagement Centre. You will also support promotional and recruitment activities through social media channels.
In this role, you will:
- Acquire knowledge about social media promotion and engagement strategies.
- Work with an ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Surrey –TD Community Engagement staff on a weekly basis to plan and develop content for Instagram, Facebook and other social media platforms.
- Discover how to present your content in a way that is engaging to the reader.
- Develop your personal voice.

Dates and Times:
Volunteers must be available for weekly virtual Taskforce meetings (date and time to be determined).
Writing and posting will be done remotely on a weekly basis.
- CEA's will generally commit 3-5 hours per week to this role.
This opportunity is predominantly self-paced. As such, we recommend that CEA's aim to be involved with us for at least 3 semesters, from May 15th, 2024, to May 9th, 2025.
Location:
Meetings on Zoom and work completed remotely.
Reporting Structure:
This role reports to the Communications Assistant, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Surrey - TD Community Engagement Centre.
Requirements:
Applicants should:
- Be enthusiastic, patient, creative and committed;
- Enjoy working with others;
- Be eager to share their experience and enthusiasm;
- Have a desire to practice and strengthen their writing skills;
- Be interested in social media and storytelling;
- Be dependable, flexible and resourceful.
- Be familiar with various social media platforms;
- A strong understanding of content creation and community engagement via Instagram and Facebook is an asset.
