Volunteering opens doors to personal growth, unexpected lessons, and meaningful connections. For Ash Szeto, a second-year ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV student majoring in English and minoring in Educational Psychology, their time with the Empower MEdia program became a defining part of their university experience.

In this edition of our Featured Student series, we’re celebrating someone who has been a cherished member of our CEC family for the past two years: Vanshika Mahajan. Vanshika is a third-year student at the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Beedie School of Business. She is passionate about long walks (in nice weather), dogs, and giving back to the community.

While CIRA’s 2023 Cybersecurity Survey shows that ransomware attacks and the dangers of AI grab headlines, the emotional and mental safety and wellness of children is another key online safety concern.

Hello! My name is Teija, I began my journey with the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Surrey - TD CEC as a Program Volunteer with Racing Readers to help grow my experience in Education. Being involved in this program helped increase my love for working with children and opened my eyes to new ways of learning.
