Indigenous Student Centre

Self-identified Indigenous students (First Nations, Metis, and Inuit) can access a welcoming and inclusive space on campus to connect with peers and participate in programs that offer emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual support. 

SURREY CAMPUS ISC (SRYC 5300)

Located on the 5000 level of the Surrey Campus, the ISC Surrey is a designated study space for currently enrolled Indigenous Students. The space offers access to a kitchenette, printer, study/lounge space, as well as academic drop-in services, wellness and cultural programming. 

Hours of Staff Support: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm

Indigenous students can access the space afterhours via passcode entry.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT

The ISC offers a variety of resources for Indigenous students to support academic success. This includes connecting with an academic advisor; accessing tutoring; and writing, learning, and research support.

INDIGENOUS COUNSELLING SERVICES

Student life can be stressful and overwhelming, but you don't have to face it alone. Indigenous Counsellors are available to support you throughout your academic journey with individual counselling, resource referrals, and group offerings. In-person and remote appointments can be  with availability Monday - Friday.

CULTURAL CONNECTIONS

ISC's Cultural Connections program is an opportunity for Indigenous Students to connect and engage with cultural and artistic activities. From casual gatherings where students can share their own artistic projects to workshops lead by local artists.

The ISC hosts events, workshops, programs and services throughout the term that are unique, cultural, and wholistic. Our vision is for Indigenous students to succeed and thrive, as our Ancestors envisioned, with a balance of culture, tradition, and academic success. Indigenous students are encouraged to join the circle and attend events hosted by the ISC.

The Indigenous Student Centre (ISC) and First Nations, Métis & Inuit Student Association's (FNMISA) monthly Town Hall is for ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV's Indigenous student community, to share questions, concerns, or feedback with the ISC and FNMISA, and the team will provide the latest updates. .
