Mail Room and Central Receiving
Mail Room and Central Receiving for the Surrey campus includes 1) sorting incoming mail, 2) pick up and delivery of mail for all departments, and 3) shipping and receiving.
Location
Mail room services and central receiving for SRYC, SRYP and SRYE is located in SRYC 1425 off the Central City Mall north loading bay.

The ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Surrey mail room handles university-business related mail only. Personal mail and packages are not to be sent to the workplace. The university does not assume responsibility or liability for personal items sent or received by the mail room.
Regular Shipping
Inter-campus mail
Inter-Campus mail is handled by a local courier to the Burnaby and Vancouver campuses. Faculty and staff members can drop off outgoing inter-campus mail in the mail drop box on SRYC Level 3. Inter-campus mail can take up to 2 business days to reach recipients at the Burnaby and Vancouver campuses.
Items too large to fit in the drop box can be brought to the mail room or you can call 778-782-8021 to arrange pick up.
Canada Post
Faculty and staff members can drop off outgoing mail at the drop box on SRYC Level 3.
Please seal all envelopes before pick up. Up to 3 pieces of department mail can be covered by the campus budget; the department and senders name must be included in the return address.
Canada Post Oversize/Bulk Mail Out
More than 4 pieces of letter or flat mail from the same department is considered bulk as well as any number of packages or parcels weighing over 200 grams/piece.
Please use the following guidelines when sending out oversize or bulk mail via Canada Post:
- Oversize/Bulk mail requires a "Canada Post Oversize/Bulk mail Form"
- If bulk mailouts do not fit in the designated Canada Post campus mail slot, please bring to the mail room or contact the mail room at 778-782-8021 to arrange pick up.
Postal rates
¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Surrey uses BC mail to handle Canada Post postage and delivery. There is a handling and processing fee for all Canada Post mailouts that will be charged to departments that use this service. There is a Canada Post outlet located in the Central City mall for personal use.

Courier Shipping
¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Surrey uses a local courier to deliver items within the Lower Mainland. Purolator is typically used for shipping outside of the Lower Mainland.
Outgoing packages can be brought to the mail room or you may call 778-782-8021 to arrange pick up. Your departmental account code is required for all courier shipments. All necessary forms and waybills must accompany your package.
Please note that couriers cannot deliver to PO Box addresses.
