Participate in upcoming Virtual Dialogue Circles: Anti-Racism Engagement Initiative at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Surrey
¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Surrey staff and faculty are invited to participate in an upcoming Virtual Dialogue Circle as part of an ongoing anti-racism engagement initiative at the Surrey campus.
¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Surrey began this work in 2020 as part of the broader university effort to ensure each community member feels safe(r), valued, and heard.
In collaboration with , with the support of the Vice-President, People, Equity and Inclusion (VPPEI), Dr. Yabome Gilpin-Jackson, this work with the campus community will help identify and co-create cultural and systemic changes towards racial equity at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Surrey.
Using a human-centred, liberatory approach, our goal is to provide accessible and accountable spaces for staff and faculty to safely participate and discuss lived experiences while centring the voices of those impacted by racism.
With your participation, we hope that the outcomes from these Virtual Dialogue Circles will help inform future institutional anti-racism policies.
How you can participate
There are two Virtual Dialogue Circles scheduled for staff and faculty:
- Dialogue circle #1: Thursday, July 14 | 1:30 - 3:00 PM | Zoom
- Dialogue circle #2: Thursday, July 21 | 2:30 - 4:00 PM | Zoom
