Welcome to Somewhere in Dreamland: A pop-up exhibition by Publishing students
PUB 431 students explored the theme of Dream while investigating the formats of publication and the act of publishing itself to examine how form and content can enhance or distort the experience of reading the material at hand. In collaboration with ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV's Special Collections and Rare Books and ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV libraries, the students are presenting their versions of what a publication is or could be from April 9-May 1. MPub alumnus Jarin Pintana presents at the first-ever 'Swiftposium'
Master of Publishing graduate Jarin Pintana recently presented at the 2024 Swiftposium, a first-ever academic conference on Taylor Swift's global impact, organized by the University of Melbourne in Australia. A devoted 'Swiftie', Pintana gives us an insight into what she calls the "highlight of her academic career". ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Publishing senior lecturer Mauve Pagé has been recognized with the 2023 ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Excellence in Teaching award for her commitment towards fostering a non-traditional and culturally-inclusive learning space for students. A champion for student-led pedagogy, Pagé is dedicated to implementing de-colonized ways of knowing in design education, all the while advancing her students’ professional and personal growth. Christina Paul shares her experience in the MPub program
Christina Paul received her MPub degree in May of 2022. During her placement with Heritage Group Distribution, she discovered her passion for accessible publishing. Although Christina had already secured an enviable position with Amazon Books in India, she decided to quit her job and move to Vancouver to continue her MPub studies in January of 2021. While the program shaped her interests and enabled her to forge her own path, it also opened doors she never knew existed. Along with feeling an immense sense of pride, Christina shares that she has found her true purpose as a publishing professional. Learn More
