¶¡ÏãÔ°AV recognizes and honours the title and rights of Indigenous Peoples as stated in UNDRIP and we respect and partner with the host Indigenous Nations, the xÊ·məθkÊ·É™yÌ“É™m (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), sÉ™lilwÉ™taɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), q̓ícÌ“É™yÌ“ (Katzie), kÊ·ikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), Qayqayt, Kwantlen, Semiahmoo and Tsawwassen peoples on whose unceded traditional territories our three campuses reside.

Uphold Truth & Reconciliation

We have the responsibility to illuminate the truth of Indigenous Peoples in Canada and around the world and to begin to chart a path of Reconciliation. 

Community Programming

Our community programs play a pivotal role in contributing to ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV's economic benefits, with a strong emphasis on initiatives like the "Rooted" Indigenous program. This program has expanded as our latest catering offering, underscoring our commitment to sustainability, integrating Indigenous wisdom and practices into our operations.

First Peoples’ Gathering House

With construction completion of the First Peoples’ Gathering House slated for winter 2024, this ceremonial space is part of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s commitment to fostering safe and welcoming Indigenous spaces on campus and will serve as a cultural hub and event space.

Acknowledging Indigenous Peoples at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV

To honour and pay respect to the Indigenous Peoples whose lands ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV campuses are situated, event holders are encouraged to make acknowledgements to the host Nations and their traditional lands at the beginning of ceremonies and events. Our expert Event Managers will help you through these event guidelines that have been compiled by ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Ceremonies and Events in collaboration with .
