Vancouver's Cultural Hub
Located in historic Gastown, the Goldcorp Centre for the Arts is housed in Vancouver’s iconic Woodward’s building. Home to ¶ˇĎăÔ°AV’s School of Contemporary Arts, this distinctive venue consists of studios and theatre space designed for the cultural arts, including music, dance, theatre, film and visual arts.
There are seven bookable spaces available at this venue on a regular basis and additional space is available on an ad hoc basis. With an artistic and “funky” vibe, these facilities are perfect for product launches, film screenings and media events.

The Goldcorp Centre for the Arts offers a variety of different spaces for your event including several specialty areas.
Djavad Mowafaghian Cinema Theatre (3200)
Capacity: 350-seat tiered theatre
The Djavad Mowafaghian Cinema is a 350-seat theatre featuring state-of-the-art projection and sound systems. The Cinema showcases student film projects, along with festival and community film screenings. It is also an ideal space for lectures and presentations. With room at the front of the hall for a small stage, the Cinema can double as a concert hall for small ensemble performances.
Note: There is limited space in the Cinema lobby for refreshments.

*Projection and Sound – Our state-of-the-art projection equipment is included with the space rental. Mandatory staffing of an ¶ˇĎăÔ°AV projectionist is required.
Djavad Mowafaghian World Art Centre (2555)

This studio is an acoustically sophisticated venue for the performance and study of world music. The World Art Centre houses the school’s suite of Indonesian Gamelan instruments and collection of African drums for ongoing classes and performances and is available to world music ensembles for rehearsal and performance. This room is also a unique space for casual meetings, receptions or pre-event gatherings.

Fei and Milton Wong Experimental Theatre (B2290)
Designed as one of Vancouver’s largest black box spaces, the Fei and Milton Wong Experimental Theatre is a site for contemporary dance, theatre, concerts and other performances. The venue features a balcony on three sides with flexible seating below that can be arranged in the round or in a more conventional setup – or even no seating at all. The Assembly Area is connected to the theatre by a retractable guillotine door that can also serve as a stage with a proscenium arch.
Audain Gallery (290)
Audain Gallery opened in 2010 and is named after patron Michael Audain. The gallery advances the aesthetic and discursive production and presentation of contemporary art through a responsive program of exhibitions that support engaged pedagogy. Audain Gallery also hosts ¶ˇĎăÔ°AV SCA Visual Arts student exhibitions. Events such as artist’s talks, public discussions, and screenings are organized parallel to the gallery’s exhibitions, cultivating the cultural context and conversation around visual art. Audain Gallery offers a critical space for engagement with the diverse and timely ideas of contemporary art in a dynamic and shifting manner.
