Eugene McCann, Friederike Landau, and Lise Mahieus recently published an article on how COVID-19 murals express hope and help envision urban futures in The Conversation.  It explores three types of murals that have appeared in Vancouver since the crisis began: inspirational murals, informational ones, and decorative art pieces.  They argue that these images are public political texts that can be read as visions for the future of cities.
