Alysha Van Duynhoven communicates award-winning research at international GIS conference

Alysha Van Duynhoven is the winner of the .The research work involved the development of The Geographic Automata Add-In for ArcGIS Pro using the .NET framework to extend ArcGIS Pro for spatiotemporal modelling of dynamic geospatial systems. Students in the GEOG 451 Spatial Modeling course were able to test-run the software during their spatial modeling project work in Fall 2023.

The Esri Young Scholars Award recognizes innovative work in the geospatial sciences and the Canadian winner is selected from the submissions to a national competition that is open to all full-time students enrolled at colleges and universities in Canada. The winning prize includes attendance and presentation at the International Esri User Conference and Education Summit in San Diego, USA. Alyshas experience from the conference can be found in her . The opportunity allows for presenting and discussing the work, networking with academic and industry professionals, and learning about future tools and trends in the GIScience discipline.

Alysha is a Student Associate of the in GIS and a PhD candidate in the Spatial Analysis and Modeling Lab.
