Christiana Miewald

Christiana Miewald is an adjunct professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Victoria and an associate of the Centre for Sustainable Community Development at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. She is keenly interested in all things related to food. Christiana has  conducted research on a wide range of food-related topics including several municipal and regional food system assessments, an examination of the relationship between housing and food security and an exploration of foodscapes in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. She has also worked on issues linking agriculture to broader issues of health, well-being and community sustainability through her work on B.C.’s small-scale meat processing sector. Currently she is engaged in Community Based Research around food security for people who use drugs in Vancouver in collaboration with the Dr. Peter Centre. She is also a former member of the Vancouver Food Policy Council and is the chair of the board of the Coquitlam Farmers Market Society.
