Instrument Booking
General booking policy: Users must book all instrument usage via the Flow Cytometry Lab’s online booking system (link below) using their first and last name. Appointments should be booked at least 24 hours in advance whenever possible and cancelled at least 24 hours in advance whenever possible. Booked appointments must not be deleted except to cancel. Users may exceed their scheduled appointment time only if someone else has not booked the instrument. User will be charged for flow cytometer usage based on actual usage time (logbook); not booked time.
Cell analysis booking policy: Analysis appointments can be a maximum of seven hours in length and must include a minimum of 15 minutes of set-up time plus 15 minutes of cleaning. Special set-up conditions must be arranged in consultation with the Flow Cytometry Lab technician (or designated alternate) prior to any experimentation.
Cell sorting booking policy: Sorting appointments can be a maximum of seven hours in length and must include a minimum of 15 minutes of set-up time plus 15 minutes of cleaning. Sorts requiring special set-up conditions may require longer minimum booking times and therefore must be arranged in consultation with the Flow Cytometry Lab technician (or designated alternate).

Users may not store data on the hard drive of workstations connected to flow cytometers. Users must export all acquired data to an appropriate folder of a network drive or save the data to a dedicated USB stick. The Flow Cytometry Lab reserves the right to delete all unauthorized FCS files from the hard drives of flow cytometry workstations without warning. The Flow Cytometry Lab is not responsible for data stored on any network drive. It is the responsibility of the user to back up their own data.
