Areas of interest
Metamorphic, structural, and geochronological analyses of the Snowbird Tectonic Zone, Hearne Province, Nunavut.
The Snowbird Tectonic Zone is a large linear structure which spans 100s of kilometers through the Canadian Shield, separating the two Archean cratons known as the Rae and Hearne cratons. My research will focus on areas in proximal to the Snowbird tectonic zone, including the Angikuni and Ennadai Lake regions of Nunavut Territory. My research will range from field mapping, structural measurements, and rock sampling/descriptions while on site. Geochronological and metamorphic analyses using lab-based methods will provide crucial information into determining and characterising the metamorphic, deformational, and tectonic history of the Snowbird Tectonic Zone.
