Evolution of Georgia Basin, British Columbia, with implications for the Mesozoic history of Vancouver Island

My thesis aims to reconstruct the history of Vancouver Island throughout the Mesozoic. Vancouver Island is part of Wrangellia terrane, an ancient crustal fragment that was accreted to the western margin of North America throughout the Jurassic and Cretaceous. The accretion of Wrangellia, followed by coast-parallel translation, were major drivers of geological change in western North America for 10s of millions of years. I use a variety of geological tools, such as detrital zircon geochronology and facies analysis, to research the Georgia Basin, a sedimentary basin overlying Vancouver Island. My results are then extrapolated to Wrangellia as a whole.
