Areas of interest

Glyn focuses on physical volcanology and the processes controlling persistently active volcanoes. His current research integrates the study of geophysical signatures with geochemical and remote sensing data to investigate precursory signals to volcanic activity and the mechanisms that trigger eruptions. Glyn uses a variety of geophysical and geochemical techniques (gravity, differential GPS, gas flux, satellite remote sensing) to study volcanoes in the Americas, Hawaii, Europe and Southeast Asia. He is especially interested in the hazards and impact of persistently degassing volcanoes on the local environment.
