Exchanges to germany

In co-operation with the German Pedagogical Exchange Office (PAD), Geman Studies Canada is accepting applications for positions as English-language assistants in the Federal Republic of Germany. Information and application forms are available from cmhein@sfu.ca.

The assistants spend 9 months at a school (starting in September) in Germany, working 12 hours per week as resource persons under the direction of teachers of English. They are expected to help with conversation and oral practice of English and should also be able to provide information about everyday life and culture in Canada.

Eligibility:

·&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è; Students majoring in German or any other subject who will have completed a first degree (BA) upon assuming the position.
·&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è; Must be native speakers of English and long-time residents of Canada.
·&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è; Must have completed 2 years of university German or completed A2 level.
·&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è; Should not be older than 35.

There is a minimum cost-of-living stipend of 1000, - Euro per month, which includes insurance and is tax-exempt in Germany. PAD assistants who rent lodgings can apply for a housing subsidy with the responsible local housing subsidy office, which, if granted, will be in addition to their stipend.

Tristanio Coppola,  BA in Linguistics, Minor in Italian Studies, Certificate in Teaching ESL, was placed in the Gymnasium in Traben-Trarbach, a small town in Rheinland-Pfalz on the Mosel river.

Hiva Rahnema, BA in Psychology, Certificate in German Studies was placed in a Gymnasium in Hamburg in Northern Germany.
