¶¡ÏãÔ°AV is pleased to announce that Brian Stewart will take on the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO) in July from the University of Alberta and Jastej Singh Aujla will join us as our new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) starting June 13, coming from TransLink.

Brian brings 20+ years of managerial experience in the post-secondary and commercial sectors. His expertise lies in providing strategic leadership, vision, and direction for information technology and to lead organizational change through innovation. He will be joining ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV from his role as Deputy Chief Information Officer at the University of Alberta.

Jastej brings over 20 years’ experience in cyber security, risk management and compliance along with enterprise strategy development and execution. Before joining ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, Jastej was the Director of IT Security, Risk, Compliance, & Resiliency at TransLink. Jastej’s extensive background in IT security and his cross-sector experience provides a unique perspective into the challenges that organizations face in building and evolving IT security programs.

We look forward to continuing to improve the digital experience for our faculty, staff, researchers and students with these new appointments and want to thank Keith Fong and Michael Thorson for keeping IT Services moving forward and stepping up to provide strong leadership during the transition period.
