Before coming to ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, I worked as a nurse practitioner in a hematology/oncology clinic. Prior to nursing, I was a middle and high school Spanish teacher as well as a massage therapist.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?
I chose to come to ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV because of the MPH program's focus on social justice. Additionally, it offers the opportunity to attain professional experience in public health by completing a practicum.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH OR YOUR PROGRAM TO A FAMILY MEMBER?
The MPH program is a generalist program offering a broad interdisciplinary education that covers multiple areas of public health knowledge and practice, which provides students with options to work in a variety of public health fields after graduation.
WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?
I enjoy learning about a wide range of public health topics and expanding my ability to evaluate public health issues using a social justice lens.
