Sustainable Energy Engineering doctoral student in the

I was born in Iran, a rich country in fossil fuels such as oil and gas. However, I blame fossil fuels for the polluted air in Iran and have always been passionate about renewable energies, in particular hydrogen energy. I focused on developing environmentally-friendly fuel cell materials for my Master of Science thesis and had this privilege to continue doing research as a research assistant after my graduation. I enjoy cooking and outdoor activities in my free time!

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?

¶¡ÏãÔ°AV offers world-class educational opportunities as well as state-of-the-art fuel cell testing and characterization facilities. Furthermore, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV is a pioneer university in terms of sustainability.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH OR YOUR PROGRAM TO A FAMILY MEMBER?

My family has continuously been supporting my research activities, knowing that I try to facilitate the transition from fossil fuels to renewables. I describe Sustainable Energy Engineering as a tool to protect humanity and planet from catastrophic climate changes!

WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?

I really enjoy studying at the school of Sustainable Energy Engineering and interacting with my peers, who I have this concern for environment in common with. Also, this is a great time to be working on renewable energies, especially hydrogen energy. Currently, there is a lot of momentum and potential in BC to further advance sustainable energies.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PROGRAM/POSTDOC POSITION TO SOMEONE STILL SEARCHING FOR A PROGRAM OR POSTDOC POSITION?

I must say that our world needs more sustainability geeks at the moment and if you are interested, look no further! School of Sustainable Energy Engineering at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV might be the one you are looking for!
