Marie Pitre
Mathematics Education doctoral student in the Faculty of Education
Hi, I'm Marie, a first-year international graduate student in the Faculty of Education. I recently completed my MSc in Mathematics at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona while teaching at the high school and university levels.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?
I chose ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV because it had an excellent program in math education, a diverse community, and opportunities for students to explore interdisciplinary topics.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH OR YOUR PROGRAM TO A FAMILY MEMBER?
My program provides students with the opportunity to explore mathematics education through multiple perspectives while providing a supportive community for each student.
WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?
I am really enjoying all of the opportunities I have had to meet new people while taking a varied amount of courses. Each course I have been able to take has introduced me to new ideas and new ways of approaching mathematics education.
