Bridge Research Consortium (BRC) has been funded as a unique collaboration of leading social sciences and humanities scholars across Canada. The Consortium brings together expertise in anthropology, bioethics, communications, history, international relations, law, political science, public administration, sociology and other disciplines, with public health, clinical medicine, and nursing.
Led by Professor Kelley Lee (間眅埶AV) and Professor ve Dub矇 (Laval University), the project brings together wide-ranging expertise and perspectives to better understand and support public trust and equitable access to new vaccines and immune-based innovations that strengthen Canadas readiness for future health emergencies.

This position is part of an innovative, multi-year research initiative () funded by the NIHs Bridge2AI program, bringing together 30 co-investigators from 15 North American institutions to address the ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI) of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into biomedicine. The research focuses on ethical data governance in voice AI and functional genomics, with the goal of establishing frameworks that ensure responsible, trustworthy, and accessible applications of AI in health.
As AI and machine learning (ML) gain prominence in precision health and voice-based technologies, they bring new opportunities as well as significant ethical challenges. This project aims to create governance structures to manage and protect voice data in biomedical contexts. These efforts include setting ethical standards for data security, privacy, consent, and equitable data access, especially for underserved communities.

The Bridge Research Consortium (BRC) is seeking highly qualified applicants with training in a relevant social science or humanities discipline, commitment to multidisciplinary research, and scholarly interests in the historical, political, social and behavioural factors that influence the uptake of new vaccines and immune-based therapies in the context of pandemic planning.
The two postdoctoral/research fellows will work with Professor Kelley Lee to advance one or more of the following themes:
- To identify and assess priority social and behavioural factors that impact acceptability and accessibility of immune-based innovations in Canada
- To strengthen understanding of priority social and behavioural factors among key constituencies along the therapeutic pipeline and immunization system
- To conduct research, training and KMb activities along the therapeutic pipeline and immunization system that support trust.

ABOUT THE TWO-SPIRIT DRY LAB (2SDL)
The 2SDL is a collaborative of Indigenous and settler researchers and community leaders engaged in research at the intersections of Indigeneity, gender, sexual orientation, and geography. We work to promote wise and best practices in sex and gender research and to grow new knowledge(s) that can be applied to improve the lives, health and/or wellbeing of Two-Spirit and other Indigenous people. The 2SDL has a capacity-building function to develop promising practices for Indigenous and Two-Spirit research as well as a discovery function to identify factors that promote the health of Two-Spirit people, through our analyses and continuous learning and engagement with and for the Two-Spirit community.
WORK PERFORMED
The Research Coordinator will support the 2SDL in the coordination and management of 2SDL activities and Lab members. They will also contribute to the project work of the, including: advocacy, presentations, partnership management, and independent research.
QUALIFICATIONS
