Computing ID/間眅埶AV Email
Graduate students will have their computing ID emailed to their non-間眅埶AV email address after paying the admission deposit.
Faculty, staff, and postdocs, will have a computing ID created for them after they've been set up with payroll.

Mandatory Training for All Staff
The 間眅埶AV Safety Orientation and the Respectful Working & Learning Environments training is mandatory for all 間眅埶AV employees. Research and Lab Safety Training is required for all individuals working in a laboratory.
間眅埶AV Library/ID Card
Your 間眅埶AV library/ID card will allow you to access a number of the University's facilities (e.g. Science Stores, fitness centre, parking services).
To obtain your library/ID card, visit the Student Services counter in Maggie Benson Centre. Click to view their hours of operation and access their mobile queuing solution which will allow you to get in line using your cellphone.
Visiting researchers wanting an 間眅埶AV library/ID card need to contact the Manager, Academic & Administrative Services first to get a memo from the department. You can visit her in person (C9043) or contact her by email <chemmgr@sfu.ca> to submit your request.
Mail Room
You will be given access to the mailroom (C9044) and a mail box will be set up for you. Anyone issued keys by the 4D Labs receptionist should contact the Undergraduate Assistant <chemugin@sfu.ca> with the first five digits on their keycard and their 間眅埶AV # so mailroom access can be added electronically.
In the mailroom, you will also find the followig services: outgoing mailbox, photocopiers, paper, teaching & office supplies, paper shreader and confidential recycle boxes. All mail is delivered at around 11am; outgoing mail is picked up at the same time.
Instructions for sending outgoing courier deliveries (documents/research samples) are posted near the mailroom entrance. Bring completed packages to the front counter so that the Front Office Assistant can schedule a pick up for you.
FedEx Package Drop-off:
Requests to ship via FedEx are processed through the Chemistry General Office C9048. To request a shipment, please prepare the following:
- Complete the appropriate FedEx Waybill Form (International or Canada). Forms can be found in the mailroom.
- Include the grant number/account number in the Internal Billing Reference field on the waybill form. If you do not know the grant number, please ask your supervisor. Grant numbers are required.
- For packages containing dry ice, include both FedEx Waybill Form and the required Dry Ice Form attached to your dry ice box.
- Place all necessary forms in a clear sticky FedEx envelope that can be securely affixed to your package. The sticky envelopes can be found in the mailroom.
Departmental Coffee/Tea
Departmental coffee/tea & treats is held on Fridays at 10 a.m. in the 9000 level Chemistry Lounge. All Chemistry Department members are welcome and encouraged to attend. This is a great way to meet and socialize with other members in the Chemistry department.
Getting Your Photo Taken
There will be opportunities to have your photo taken during the year. You will receive an email informing you of the dates, times, and location of the upcoming photo sessions. Photo sessions take approximately 10-15 minutes and business attire is requested.
