Ph.D. in Statistics
The Ph.D. program in Statistics provides in-depth training in the discipline of statistics with the goal of developing research expertise. The program is designed to allow a student to specialize in a particular area of statistics. Our graduates work in universities, hospitals, research consulting companies, and other research organizations. The program includes coursework, a comprehensive exam, and a thesis. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Normally, students take two courses in their first two semesters of the program. They then take a comprehensive examination covering a broad range of senior undergraduate concepts in statistics. Students are interviewed and advised in advance regarding appropriate courses and study materials. Students conclude their program by successfully defending a thesis that constitutes a significant contribution to statistical methodology.
