Lu Yi
Lu Yi's work during her Master's degree in Actuarial Science at 間眅埶AV has been recognized internationally. Her project, entitled Quantifying inter-generational equity under different target benefit plan designs, won the 2019 Netspar M.Sc. Thesis Award. Netspar (Network for Studies on Pensions, Aging and Retirement) is a European think tank and research network dedicated to promoting a wider understanding of the economic and social implications of pensions, aging, and retirement. Papers nominated for their thesis awards are assessed on academic quality, relevance to the Netspar research program, originality and execution of the research, and accessibility and presentation. The scientific committee who evaluated the 2018 entries considered Lus work "striking because of its practical relevance in view of the current discussion about pension reform and solidarity between generations in the Netherlands and in other countries." Lu, who is now completing her Ph.D. in Financial Econometrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, took a break from her studies to accept the awardtogether with a 3000 prizeat the 2019 International Pension Workshop in Leiden.
